App Licence & Policies
Last updated: 22 July 2026
This page is the plain-English licence and the app-specific policies for the Reseller OS desktop application. It sits alongside our Terms of Service, which govern everything and take precedence if anything here ever conflicts, and our Privacy Policy, which covers personal data. Installing or using the app means you accept all three.
1. Your licence
You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Reseller OS on devices you own or control, for tracking your own reselling activity. We keep all intellectual property rights in the app. You must not copy, sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute it; reverse engineer or modify it except where the law permits; use it to build or train a competing product; or use it unlawfully.
2. Early access and updates
Reseller OS is opening in waves and the app is early-access software. Features may be added, changed or removed as it develops, and no particular feature is promised to stay. The app takes a full local backup of your data before applying an update. That backup is a convenience, not a substitute for your own.
3. Your data lives on your device
Everything you track is stored in a local database on your machine. We hold no copy and cannot recover it if your device or files are lost or damaged. Keeping backups is your responsibility; the app gives you export tools (Excel, CSV, JSON) and takes its own pre-update backup to help. Uninstalling the app does not delete your data folder unless you delete it yourself.
4. Email import
The order-import feature is optional. Connect an inbox only if it is yours or you are entitled to grant software on your device access to it. Your credentials are encrypted and stored on your device only. You are responsible for complying with your email provider's terms. Automated parsing is not guaranteed to be complete or accurate: anything the app is unsure about is flagged for your review, and the records are yours to check.
5. The Checkouts panel (optional cloud feature)
The Checkouts panel is different from the rest of the app, and it is the one optional feature that involves our servers. It is shown to eligible accounts and does nothing until you connect it. If you use it, these terms apply:
- What it does.Your bots' checkout webhooks are captured in the cloud, either through relay links you place in your bot or through a reader bot you add to your own Discord server, and organised into drops, profiles, feeds and insights for you to view. With relay links, your Discord still receives every webhook unchanged.
- Only connect what is yours.Point relay links only at webhooks from bots you run, and add the reader bot only to servers where you have the authority to do so. Do not capture other people's webhook traffic without their permission.
- Read only. Captured checkouts are never written into your Orders or Inventory tracker, and removing captured data clears our copy only: it never touches your Discord, your bot, or any real order.
- The PAS ledger is bookkeeping, not a payment service. It records who owes what within your group and can file paid batches into your income. Any actual arrangement, payment or dispute between you and your group members is between you and them. We are not a party to it and hold no funds.
- Independence. The panel works with any bot that can post a Discord webhook. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any bot, and Discord is a trademark of Discord Inc.
- Availability. As an early-access cloud feature it may change, be interrupted or be withdrawn; treat your Discord as the canonical record of your webhooks.
What the panel stores and how to delete it is covered in the Privacy Policy.
6. Open-source software
The app is built with open-source components used under their own licences. Their notices are available on request at [email protected].
7. The important reminders
Reseller OS is record-keeping software, not tax, accounting, legal or financial advice. The app is provided as is during early access, and the limitations of liability in the Terms of Service apply to everything on this page. Questions: [email protected].
