The short version

Reseller OS is local-first. Your inventory, orders, sales, expenses and finances are stored on your own computer, in the app, and are never sent to us. We could not read them if we wanted to. The only personal data we collect is the email address you give us when you join the waitlist, and we use it to email you about Reseller OS. That is the whole model. The rest of this page spells it out properly.

Who we are

Reseller OS ("Reseller OS", "we", "us", "our") operates the website at reselleros.app and publishes the Reseller OS desktop application for Windows and macOS. We are based in the United Kingdom and act as the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us about anything in this policy at [email protected].

Data we collect on this website

Waitlist email address. If you join the waitlist, we collect the email address you enter. It is processed by Kit (Kit.com, formerly ConvertKit), the email platform we use to hold the list and send the emails. We use it to tell you when a spot opens and to send occasional updates about Reseller OS. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us.

Hosting and security logs. The website is served by Cloudflare. Like any host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP addresses and request logs to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use this data to identify or profile you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.

Nothing else. This website does not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers or tracking pixels, and it does not set cookies for marketing. We do not buy data about you and we do not sell or rent data to anyone.

Data the app does not send us

The Reseller OS desktop app stores your data in a local database on your device. That includes your inventory, orders, sales, pre-orders, expenses, income, analytics and settings. None of it is uploaded to us. There is no Reseller OS account and no Reseller OS cloud.

If you choose to connect your email inbox to use the order-import feature, your inbox credentials are encrypted and stored on your device only. They are never transmitted to us. The app reads your order-related emails locally, on your machine, solely to create and update order records. We never see your inbox, your credentials or the content of your emails.

Because we hold no copy of your app data, we also cannot access, disclose, recover or delete it for you. It is yours, on your hardware, under your control.

Who we share data with

Kit stores the waitlist and sends our emails on our behalf. Kit is based in the United States; transfers are protected by recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Cloudflare hosts and serves the website and processes technical logs as described above.
Discordruns our community server. Joining is entirely optional, and anything you do there is governed by Discord's own terms and privacy policy, not ours.

We do not share personal data with anyone else, except where the law requires it.

Marketplaces and other services you connect

When the app interacts with your marketplaces or your email provider, it does so from your device, using your own accounts. Those services process your data under their own privacy policies. We are not a party to that relationship and receive nothing from it.

How long we keep data

We keep your waitlist email until you unsubscribe, you ask us to delete it, or we close the list, whichever comes first. Hosting logs are retained briefly under Cloudflare's standard settings and then discarded.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to our use of it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. Since the only personal data we hold is typically one email address, most requests are quick. Email [email protected]and we will sort it. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

The website and the app are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us their email address, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will say so on the website or in the Discord before it takes effect.
