What the order template tracks
- Date bought, item, brand and where you bought it
- What it cost, postage in, and anything else you paid
- Status, so you can see what is still sitting in stock
- Date sold, where it sold and what it sold for
- Platform fees and postage out
- Profit, worked out from all of the above
The profit column is the one that matters, and it is the one a spreadsheet gets wrong first: it has to subtract the fees, the postage out and everything you paid to get the item, not just the purchase price.
When a spreadsheet stops being enough
A spreadsheet is honest work until the typing outgrows it: the same order copied from an email, a bank app and a platform; fees that change per platform and per listing; a formula someone dragged one row too far. Reseller OS does that part for you, and your data still lives on your own computer.
